10th Class English Guess Paper 2026 Punjab Boards
Matric 10th English Guess Paper PDF for Punjab

This guess paper is for 10th class English (Matric Part 2) in the Punjab boards. It was made for the 2024 annual exams and follows the paper pattern of all nine boards, from Lahore and Gujranwala to Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan. It is one of the most complete papers in our 10th class set: 30 pages that cover every question of the English paper, from the MCQs to narration.
Objective part: about 600 MCQs
Most of the PDF is objective practice, split into the same four types the board uses. The answers are not marked, so keep your textbook or grammar book nearby to check them.
- Correct spelling: about 150 words, such as “opportunity”, “circumstances”, “proficient”, “incessant” and “frustration”.
- Meanings of underlined words: more than 100 questions on words from the lessons, for example “innovative”, “dynamic”, “defy” and “culprit”.
- Correct form of the verb: around 140 sentences that test every tense, including past perfect, perfect continuous and future perfect.
- Grammar: about 200 questions on parts of speech, relative pronouns, conjunctions, adverb clauses, active and passive voice, and simple, compound and complex sentences.
Subjective part, question by question
- Q1, translation into Urdu: 33 paragraphs from the lessons, including the Holy Prophet ﷺ as an embodiment of justice, Chinese New Year, Great Expectations, choosing a career, the world food problem and the story of Hazrat Abuzar Ghaffari (RA) standing surety at the court of Hazrat Umar (RA).
- Q2, short questions: 44 questions, such as “What is the significance of New Year’s Eve dinner?”, “Why is it necessary to keep soap away from the wound?”, “How did Pip become a successful business man?” and “Why did the villager ask Hazrat Umar (RA) to delay the execution?”.
- Q3, poem summaries: “Try Again” and “Peace”.
- Q4 and Q5, essay or paragraph: five essay topics (My Best Friend, My Hobby, Village Life, My House, Sports and Games) and seven paragraph topics, with My Neighbour, Allama Iqbal and The Teacher I Like the Most marked as most important.
- Q6, pairs of words: 35 commonly confused pairs to use in sentences, like affect and effect, accept and except, stationary and stationery, and quite and quiet.
- Q7, translation into English: a set of Urdu paragraphs on everyday topics such as a garden, Anarkali Bazaar, Lahore, milk, a good friend and respect for parents.
- Q8, direct and indirect narration: 87 sentences covering statements, commands, requests, questions and exclamations.
Which parts still help in 2027?
Most of it. Spelling, verb forms, grammar, narration, pairs of words, essays, paragraphs and Urdu-to-English translation are skills, not chapters, and they are tested the same way every year. The parts tied to lessons (Q1 translation, Q2 short questions, word meanings and the poems) depend on your textbook. Compare them with the contents page of your current 10th class English textbook and skip any lesson or poem that is no longer in it.
Revision tips for the English paper
- Spend ten minutes a day on the spelling list. These are easy marks that many students lose to one wrong letter.
- Learn the narration rules once (change of tense, pronouns and time words), then practise ten sentences a day from Q8.
- Prepare two essays and two paragraphs well, and practise adapting them to nearby topics.
- For translation into Urdu, aim for natural Urdu that keeps the meaning, rather than a word-for-word copy.
Then go through the 10th class English past papers and the pairing scheme to see how the marks are spread.
