How Islamiat is taught in Class 3
Under the SNC, Islamiat is a separate compulsory subject from Class 1 onwards. In Class 3 the lessons are longer than in the first two years and children are expected to understand and explain what they learn, not only memorise it: the meaning behind a duaa, the lesson in a story, or why a good habit matters.
Quran reading is not taught in this book. Punjab schools use a separate Nazra Quran book for that.
Helping your child at home
- Learn duaas with their meaning. Ask your child to say what a duaa means in their own words after memorising it.
- Retell the stories. Ask your child to tell you a story from the book and what lesson it teaches.
- Connect lessons to daily life. When a lesson is about honesty, cleanliness or respect for parents, point out where it happens at home.
- Check Arabic carefully. If your child reads an Arabic text aloud, listen for correct pronunciation, and ask a teacher or a family member who reads well if you are unsure.
Other Class 3 books
Class 3 in Punjab also uses Urdu, English, Maths, Akhlaqiat (Ethics) and General Knowledge. All of them are on the Class 3 Punjab textbooks page. The book before this one is Class 2 Islamiat.
