1st Year Guess Papers

This page collects our 1st Year (11th class, Inter Part 1, HSSC-I) guess papers for the Punjab boards. There are eight subjects at the moment: the four science subjects of the Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering groups, the three compulsory papers, and Islamiat Ikhtiari. The same papers serve all nine Punjab boards, since Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and DG Khan follow one syllabus at Intermediate level.

2027 update: we will update these 1st Year guess papers for the 2027 annual exams a few days before the exams start. Until then, the papers below are the latest editions we have.

Exam year: all eight 1st Year guess papers on this page were made for the 2022 annual exams by Muhammad Qadir Rafique of Al-Qadeer Jinnah Science Academy. Each subject page describes what is inside its PDF, so you can decide how much of it still fits your book.

Guess paper, past papers and pairing scheme for each subject

The table puts the three things you need for each subject in one row. The guess paper tells you what a teacher expects, the past papers show what the board has really asked, and the pairing scheme shows which chapters are tied together in the paper.

Why 1st Year needs a different approach

Many students treat Part 1 lightly because the final Intermediate result is what counts for admissions. That is a mistake: in the Punjab boards your Part 1 marks are added to Part 2, and improving them later means sitting the papers again. The jump from Matric is also bigger than it looks. The Physics, Chemistry and Maths books are longer, the long questions mix theory with numericals, and the English paper expects longer written answers.

Because these guess papers are 2022 editions, check every chapter-based question against your current textbook before you learn it. The language parts (translation, grammar, letters, applications and essays) and the Quranic verses and Ahadith in Islamiat are the least affected by any change in the books.

A revision order that works

  1. Finish the textbook exercises and numericals first. A guess paper is for the last four to six weeks, not for learning a chapter from scratch.
  2. Read the pairing scheme and mark the chapters you cannot skip.
  3. Solve two or three recent past papers in exam time, then use the guess paper to fill the gaps.
  4. In science subjects, practise the numericals in the guess paper on paper with full working. Most marks are lost to missing steps and units.

For other classes, go back to the Punjab boards guess papers page, or move on to the 2nd Year guess papers when you reach Part 2.
